lyrics

The Sun.

The sun filters through the cracked stone:
A life beyond the tomb.
Escape, I see and feel the sky.
But still, he haunts my mind.

The tomb is dark and the monster is asleep.
The air is cool and it’s time for me to leave.

I crash my fists into the icy stone.
It shatters, as does my flesh and bone.

The sun filters through the cracked stone:
A life beyond the tomb.
Escape, I see and feel the sky.
But still, he haunts my mind.

Blinding light greets my eyes.
Release, I collapse into the dirt.
I thought he could not hear,
But still, he awakens.

I crash my fists into the icy stone.
It shatters, as does my flesh and bone.

The sun filters through the cracked stone:
A life beyond the tomb.
Escape, I see and feel the sky.
But still, he haunts my mind.

[Solo: CPD]
[Solo: RJL]

I’ve been awake for far too long.
I’ve been awake for far too long.
You’ve blocked out my sun for far too long.

Shadowed eyes can’t watch me,
So he sends thoughts to chase me.
Those poisoned claws, swung blindly.

The sun never shines when you’re near.
I feel terror.
The time has come for me to run.
I still fear you.
